Lutheran Church of St. Andrew - Silver Spring, Maryland
Construction was begun on the unique 47,000 sf. Lutheran Church of St. Andrew located at 15300 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland in November of 2006 and completed in March 2008. In addition to the building receiving national recognition for architectural excellence, Bob Hammen was chosen as the Construction Manager of the Year for Lutheran projects nationally for his work on this church. Please see the brief testimonial written below by Pastor Mark Hricko.

Hammen Contracting, Inc.
"Hammen Contracting understands what it means to build a house of the Lord. They strongly believe that they are not only doing a job but that they are serving God in the process. We have prayed together and supported one another through all the ups and downs that come with a project of this magnitude."

Once again, Bob Hammen created a team of local Christian subcontractors, several of whom had a linage to the church, who worked very hard to contain costs and bring the project in on time. This was crucial since St. Andrew had sold their former building and had to vacate the property in early 2008. It is worthwhile to note, many church members participated in weekly cleanup of the job site which not only saved a significant amount of money for the church, but also built a real sense of community for them and fit in seamlessly with our Ministry of Construction program.
